Can someone provide me a list of a few unis in the UAE were I can get a job.

that was pretty easy, now out of that huge list how do I find the ones that have ESL positions?

I do not know if you are a serious poster genuinely seeking information and assistance (personally, I more than suspect that you are not) but if you are then I have to say that - and I do hope this does not come across as too overly obnoxious and/or facetious - if you cannot find the answer to that question (and your numerous other questions) then I would submit that you would be unlikely to obtain, let alone keep, a teaching post in the UAE, at any level. Teachers here are, in return for generous renumeration, expected to be independent and self-reliant.

I predict that if anyone is foolish enough to answer your question as to how to go about finding out which universities in the list that you were furnished with have ESL posts, you will immediately come back with a question along the lines of 'Now how do I know/find out which ones have vacant ESL posts', and, if and when that (non)question is answered, you will ask how to go about applying, etc., etc., ad infinitum.

Personally, I would have thought that you would want to 'bother' spending weeks researching posts so as to better familiarise yourself with potential employers. This would certainly be preferable to treating as gospel information gleaned in minutes (a word you may wish to learn to spell correctly if you really desire to secure employment in the UAE) from the web.

And... since no one else has posted.

As you found, there are quite a few private universities - mostly quite small - that might hire a few expats... many of which none of us have even heard of...

I personally would only consider a very few, but a newbie in the Gulf may have to expand their search. You have listed the two main government employers... the third being UAEU. They are the big three in hiring... ZU being the smallest of the three.

Actually the best employer, especially for Americans because of its contributing to the US pension system, is AUSharjah. (very difficult to get a job because of the competition) Another OK private uni also in Sharjah is the University of Sharjah.

There... now you have a start... these are the main ones discussed here in dozens of threads. Personally I would click through that list in Wikipedia and visit their websites. There may be some good jobs there that haven't advertised much, or have posters here. I would check out each place's foundations programs... look at the courses and faculty list. If the names are all Arab or sub-continental, it probably means that they either don't want us or won't pay enough to get us. (often they only hire Muslims)

After all... I thought you were planning to attend TESOLArabia next March... giving you plenty of time to peruse the wiki list.

Thanks VS., that it what I was looking for basically. Now I can spend time researching those institutions. I just wanted a base from which to start.

BTW I am half way through a PhD, I have publications in peer-reveiwed journals, if I couldn't spell how would they get published? I really think my spelling or typos will have no bearing on my job proscpects or ability to hold down a 3 year contract. I detect controlfreakism, and a superiority complex and possibly frustration. I honestly don't know why posters care about spelling, if the meaning is clear why should it matter in the context of a bulleting board? Surely in such an informal speech community our utterances should not be analysed for grammar or syntax, it is really meaningless.
