I just had to check in on this thread to see how long it was before someone answered: "I was born with them."
2 posts (counting the OP)!

Actually, it's a better example of poor English communication. In a forum, supposedly related to the English language, those attempting to communicate should write with well-thought-out posts; including the word choice and style of writing. The title of the original post used non-formal English and, as such, could be interpreted exactly as you refer to. Vernacular or slang should be avoided as it is unclear and can cause conflict or ambiguity.
What else would you expect in a forum where post-count seems to be the ego-driving force?!
People need to write better. That's all it is. |

If I'm in China on a Tourist Visa, two months ahead of my real contract and Z visa, do you think there is much harm in doing privates? That is to say, is doing privates on a L visa really any worse than doing them on a Z?
btw (off-topic) is it hard to start renting an apartment on my tourist Visa? |

@ voyeur ... it depends entirely upon the school, the province, the location, your expectations and --after you absorb all of those details-- whether you care about being LEGAL or ILLEGAL.
It also matters what the plan is ... if the school is NOT qualified to get you anything better than an L visa, then you are looking at a risky, illegal violation and potential arrest / deportation. If the school IS qualified and working to get your F.E.C., Z visa and R.P., then you might be able to trust and keep working -- worry free!
At the end of the day, it's ONLY ILLEGAL "if you get caught" ... it's the time you spend in-between --LEGAL and ILLEGAL-- that is stressful. The amount of stress depends upon your plans for living and working in the PRC.

Or that the poster is a bit of a smart ass
Like I was going to say "My dad's XYs were a bit luckier than his XXs 32 years ago." |

I'm thinking of putting up an advert in the lobby of my apartment building. What do you think?
I could just make a simple sign stating English lessons in apt#...Drop by between 9 and 11pm. 300 per lesson. |
