Just like the title says.

What are my chances of obtaining employment right now in Tokyo - or should I leave Japan while I still have some savings?

There are three things that might prevent you getting a job:

1. You run out of savings before you find something.

2. Employers are put off by the fact that you were fired.

3. Your resume is ugly.

4. You perform poorly in interviews.

All these can be mitigated. In particular, working for GABA or teaching Skype lessons will help with 1 and 2. Tokyo is a big town, so I'd say you have a fair chance.

Without reasons or exact numbers, we can't give you proper advice. For example, if you tiddled a kid, then you'll probably do it again and get fired again. If you're a bad teacher, and you will not improve, you will get fired again.

If it was a teaching-based issue, make sure you can fix it before starting a new job here.

Chances are you can probably leave it off your resume which will help you. If your new employer asks why you have a visa, you can chose to lie or just heavily stretch the truth.

If you are low on money, which is dependent on your spending habits, then you might be better off heading back to the homeland.

It all depends on why you were fired in the first place. The fact that you are not a native speaker might make finding a new job difficult. What kind of visa do you have?
There are tons of non-natives working at GABA, it seems they will hire anyone with a pulse. Worth a try, if you don't want to leave Japan.
