Hi everyone, I am in the midst of accepting a job in Thailand, but all the details seem VERY good to be true. The company is based in London, called Teach-to-Travel UK.
NOT TO BE CONFUSED with TEACH-to-TRAVEL THAILAND, which I HAVE seen reviews about being a poorly run company who does not pay their employees and has other issues.
Does anyone have experience with teach-to-travel UK? They seem prominent and they have recruiters for Thailand and Hong Kong and other countries too.
Thanks! Best Wishes

If you are not as ugly as Quasimodo, do have a degree and the wherewithal that ghod gave green apples then skip the recruiter and get on a plane.

The time to be in Thailand is NOW. School starts in mid May and schools are looking now. AFTER May 15 you get what was left and will largely be dealing with schools who couldn't get it together before hand or dodgy agencies.

If you don't have a degree then you take your chances since legal work (proper visa and work permit) is not an option (in spite of what the dream sellers may claim).

Recruiters just really take too much of a chunk out of your pay.

But regarding Teach to Travel, I've emailed several times regarding their UK positions and I've received 0 feedback. I think that is pretty unprofessional as I am directly responding to ads and signed up on their website. It may be because I am not an EU citizen but still...

Hi there,

Like Surendra, I have also queried something with Teach to Travel UK and I have not got a response. I sent the same query twice. I sent it first directly to their official email address which I found on their website (I got a `failed delivery` response) and then through the feedback form on that same website.

The query/problem was about the terms and conditions not being accessible. To complete the application form on their site, which is the only way you can apply it seems, you must tick the box saying you read the terms and conditions. If you try and press submit without doing that, it will remind you to tick the box or assume you have read the terms and conditions. I can`t remember which. Anyhow, however trivial terms and conditions may be I am very reluctant to apply to anything without knowing what they are so I had to put off my application until they responded.

I first read the job ad on the Guardian website (about their schools in Hong Kong) which directed me to the online application form (it was also the last day for applying as it happens, according to the Guardian which lets you know when the deadline is about to expire). I sent my query before clicking on the submit form, because of the problem I describe above about the terms and conditions. Then I read the same job ad here on Dave`s ESL cafe a week later (so the deadline had not passed it seems) and so I thought I would send my query again on their website feedback form as I had not heard back. I explained that I had sent them an email but had received a failed delivery response.

However, today I realised that the email address I sent it to was incorrect (though I did find it on their website - [email protected]) hence the failed delivery message and I have sent it again today to the correct one. That still does not explain why they have not sent a response to my feedback form query confirming the correct address or responding to the actual query but we shall wait and see. If I get a response I will let you know.

Unlike Surendra, I am an EU citizen but it doesn`t seem to make a difference whether you are or not.

I read a review about their school in Turkey which seemed overall very positive so maybe they`re not that bad once they receive your application and you`re good to go. However, even if they respond to me this time I am already beginning to reconsider my interest in their school(s).
