According to my FAO the maximum age in Fujian is 65.
But, some schools might be reluctant to hire older FT's because the health insurance costs are much higher.
She also told me that our school does hire older FT's, but they may be asked to cover all or part of the cost of the health insurance. |

Sorry it happened to you OP, but this is a good time to remind people not to buy an air ticket until you have a visa in your passport or at the very least the documents needed to obtain the visa.
Try the less popular provinces. Put your age out there first so the ones that won't or can't hire you don't waste your time.
Edited after realizing OP didn't actually buy an air-ticket already!

Yeah, first thing I say when I apply ANYWHERE (60); never been a problem.
Try somewhere else, OP, you'll get something. |

My school just hired a teacher who is 62. We are told after 65 you can not be hired here. As another poster said, put out your age first. Some schools like to hire older teachers, |

If you can teach chem, you should be able to find a job fairly easily. There are a lot of places implementing the IB program in public schools these days. Should be looking at 20k easy. |

The real issue is why you never provided such information about your age from the very first contact on your part (letter of introduction, etc.)? There are a few pieces of absolutely necessary information you should be giving potential employers from the outset, and this is one of them. |

There's a new regulation coming into force soon.
You have to declare how many identities you've had on Dave's when you apply for a job. Any more than three and you're outta here. |
