|

After years of reading various posts here, I am finally taking the plunge to pursue attaining my Celta with the ultimate objective of securing employment in China.
I have the option of taking the program in either Thailand (Bangkok or Phuket) or China (Beijing or Shanghai) and was wondering what might be the best course of action for me to take: do the Celta in China or Thailand? Or take the program in Thailand and then pursue employment in China once I am certified?
What are the pros and cons of participating with the program in either country?
Seeking clarity and strategy on the issue and any sage thoughts, ideas or comments would be hugely appreciated.

Obviously, if you do a celta in China, you will be able to make contacts while you are here. Not sure how you would not see this for yourself really.
Downside is you will be in China while you are doing your celta. Also will have to do a visa run. |

As Big Worm said, you would have to do a visa run after finishing the CELTA. To get a work visa for China you have to apply outside the country - sometimes you even have to be in your home country.
Sometimes you can get away with going to HK and applying there, however this may be much harder than in the past and not something I'd recommend. |
