Hey guys-
So I have accepted a job offer at a school in Moscow. I sent via email all my documents that they needed in order to obtain a letter of invitation. They requested a letter of invitation from the Russian government around 3 weeks ago. They emailed me saying that they still don't have an ETA from the government on when the letter will arrive.
Is this normal? How long does it typically take to get a letter? I just want to know whether or not I should be worried. Thanks!

I am not in Moscow but where I am standard time is one month so I don't think you should worry yet. |

No need to worry. A month is typical. Six weeks not unusual. Two months not impossible.
Best of luck to you for when you come to Moscow! |

Our school is also waiting on invitations for teachers to start with us for the new academic year. We've been told that the initial 'ready' date will be delayed for 2 weeks. So it will be 5 or 6 weeks in total. Totally normal |

Thanks for all the responses. I can now sleep tonight. Plus, now that Snowden has been granted asylum, maybe the process will speed up. Probably not...
