| On the other hand, Expat, the world is complicated enough without adding delusions to it. I'm not going to spend 72 hours in order to have what you consider in your bigoted way an "intelligent conversation." Life is too short for that. |

Dear gorkomi
"My concern is, are we helping to raise terrorists by teaching English at those schools, or is this a one-off?"
My question is - since that is a question that can never be answered until after the fact, and since you could be "helping to raise terrorists" no matter where you might teach, just what do you intend to do about that concern?
Leave the Middle East? But anywhere you teach, one of your students could be a potential terrorist.
Leave the teaching profession?
Regards,
John |

Read this; Al-Qaeda: The True Story of Radical Islam by Jason Burke. Franchise, brand, network of networks......all are kind of good descriptors.
Islam has moved to the right from what I've seen on the ground living in 4 different Islamic countries.
Here in Libya and Cyrenica at that, there are more and more worrying people around. |

The mainstream media feeds you with delusions and misinformation. Life is too short for me to waste even five minutes watching it on TV or otherwise. You might be surprised how much of peoples' time is wasted watching TV and reading mainstream media reports. Its a whole lot more than 72 hours on average. I know people who spend the vast majority of their spare time sitting in front of a TV. Sometimes it works out to 12 hours a day, 7 days a week! Care for a little brainwashing with your junk food do you? |

Scot,
Saudi Arabia is notorious for its terrorists. It seems most of them have fled to Yemen or are imprisoned in Saudi. Might a terrorist or two pop up in a class in France? Yes, one might. But c'mon.
Expat, I do not sit around watching any TV- not my own media and not your conspiracy theory videos- all day. As for junk food; phooey- I'm an organic vegetarian when at all possible, and find fast food disgusting. But I get your point. The thing is, I'll take CNN, Fox, Al Jazeera and MSNBC over "Truther" stuff any day. Unless it's Michael Moore-style truther stuff, because he's entertaining. |

He was a Truther before the term was ever coined. Remember Fahrenheit 911?

"Truthers" are an oxymoron. Truthers are quite selective in what they like to believe. Don't believe their hype; you may as well watch main stream Media.
Here is another truther's perspective; not that I personally subscribe to any of these people's notion of the "truth"...as one poster stated... perhaps Michael Moore, only because he is entertaining...
What is wrong with Jimmy Walter??? http://erichufschmid.net/TFC/DarylBradfordSmith_Walter.html |

Is Expat101 part of this conspiracy ? Why is she so intent on entering KSA with a team of highly-trained canines ? What was she doing in Malaysia ?
If I make no more posts then you will have proof positive that it is all a giant conspiracy. If my allegations are ignored, that too will prove they are all implicated ! |

| The truth is out there ... and so are the truthers. National Post editor Jonathan Kay uses this label, originally derived from the 9/11 Truth Movement, to designate conspiracists of all stripes, not just those who question the “official” story about the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Truthers are modern gnostics, convinced they possess a secret knowledge being kept hidden from the general public by a shadowy cabal of sinister puppet masters. In the information age, such knowledge is linked to power and control over the media, rendering the truthers – at least in their own frequently tortured minds – heroic resistance figures as well as, simultaneously and paradoxically, radical skeptics and true believers. - See more at: http://www.quillandquire.com/reviews/review.cfm?review_id=7327#sthash.IkWfqL1e.dpuf |

Quite selective indeed! We don't believe everything we are told. Last time I checked, that was a good idea - it's called using your own brain to THINK! If you can't sift through the disinformation on the internet regarding information, then you're better off not paying attention to the news in the first place. Stay ignorant rather than misinformed. |

What conspiracy are you talking about?
Who said 'she' was intent on entering KSA?
Who said I have 'highly-trained canines?
Who said I was wanting to take 'highly-trained canines' to the KSA?
I hear highly trained bomb sniffing dogs can sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Sometimes, they sell in the millions, if especially good. Drug sniffing dogs are cheap, but bomb sniffing dogs are rare and very expensive.
What was I doing in Malaysia? Working and on holiday (at different times).
You can stop with the allegations now and come down to reality. |

However not all 'truthers' speak the truth, but choose to select what they want to believe in line with their particular world view.
seems to me, Truthers take an evangelical approach bordering on fanaticism AKA It's my way or the highway.
Does the truth actually prevent people from making the same mistakes and repeating history??? Does knowing the truth make you any less ignorant? Bigots = truthers? I don't have all the answers and do not think truthers do either.
