Does anyone here use one in every day life? Is there such a thing yet that has speech recognition in both languages?
I will be moving to China. I don't speak any Chinese yet. Any recommendations for a translator?
Thanks
PS I will work very hard to learn Chinese once I get there. |

The Google Translate app on my Android phone has worked well enough thus far. I've done everything from enable internet banking to shipping packages back home Google Translate.
I don't think the speech recognition capabilities of Google Translate are very high on Android devices. You won't want to use the speech recognition anyway - typing is faster because you have to wait for the recording to upload to Google's servers and then process before getting your result. |

I recommend Pimsleur audio CDs for learning conversational Chinese. It's expensive but good. |
