Don't let the trolls get you down OP. The same person who began the backpacker talk has in previous lives been a legal and medical expert (oh, still is) and to add to all of that, they are an expert on Chinese society and culture. 
Nothing wrong with finding a new venue, but your pay is going to take a cut. Unless you get into a private or joint venture university, you will not get that much pay for your work. If you happen to land one with that pay, you will probably end up with a lot more work and red tape. |

International kindergarten? Who are you trying to fool? I'd keep riding the grave train you're on then take the money you've (hopefully) saved, and get into a legit teaching program. Surely your experience at an "international kindy" will get you into one. |

I teach in a university and work part time in the kids school. I say "work" and not "teach". Because after two hours there i want to shoot myself in the head.
I have no idea about teaching in an international school, but the kids give me a terrible head ache. Oh, I love kids, and I had worked in kids schools for years before I got my senses and went to university.
If I was going for money, I would stick in the international school. Universities will pay anywhere from 1/3 to less then 1/2 of what you make.
But, the hours are way less, and here are privates.
Everyone has to decide what they like better. It is hard to take advice from others because you may regret it.
But then again, I always ask for advice too |

I'm new and looking for opinions, but I can see where one might think I'm seeking advice. At the end of the day, however, I must make my own choices and live with them.
What do you mean by, "and here are privates?"
Also, how does one get a job teaching at a public university? All the headhunters seem to looking for teachers for kids and/or buxibans (that's what private English training centers used to be called in Taiwan, anway; maybe still are?). |

Privates" can be language schools, or people who want you to teach part time for cash.
They are not legal, but many people do them.
I always am asked to do privates. Some times I say yes and some times I say no |
