It's Harley Medical & Visa Services
http://www.harleymedvisa.co.uk/
and almost all contractors for Aramco use them. Very professional and helpful but you get what you pay for. |

I asked if they reimbursed for the health exam, and they said they reimburse $200 for it. Then they got a quote and the person at the visa agency said that it usually costs $1200.00
It would be cheaper to fly to Saudi Arabia with a $600 flight from where I am and do everything there.
I might just do credit cards, and think of it as an investment that takes two months of salary to pay off, with the reward being to make more. |

GO FOR IT!!!!!!!
It sounds like a well-thought out plan! Don't listen to those who might try to dissuade you!
They don't know you as well as you yourself! |

Mark,
Have you decided if you are getting a teaching visa or a work visit visa? For my wife and I to get our teaching visas we had to return to our respective countries (I'm Australian, my wife is American) to process the visas. Our employer paid for the flights (from Mexico). That was the only way we could get teaching visas. We considered my wife processing her visa in Australia, but that turned out to be impossible. So, if you want a teaching visa, you must go back to your country of citizenship. My visa took 7 weeks, and my medical in Australia cost about $1000 AUD all up. My wife's visa in the US took about 9 weeks, and her medical was a little more expensive, around $1100 USD from memory. I'm not sure what the process is for a work visit visa, though I'm sure it's much easier, and you may be able to do it without returning home.
Best of luck! |

| I was in the same situation trying to get visa for KSA earlier this year. The recruiter/agent was asking me to go back to the USA to do the visa process but the problem was she could not give me a definite period that it would take. I also heard that the Saudi embassy was getting more strict about giving out visas so lots of things were out of the recruiters hands. I hope to try for it again next year when I know I can put time aside for the visa process to work out. Would be helpful if anybody lets us know if they get the visa without returning to the states. |

For two of my jobs in KSA I had the papers processed while resident in a third country. For both the Airline and KFUPM there was no need for me to return to the UK.
It all depnds on your employer.

Hers my crazy idea- could you do the medical abroad and have the results sent to your GP in your home country? Then the GP could fill out the medical forms and it would be like the tests were done in your home country.
To get the visa, you could work with a visa agent and send them your passport while you are abroad, thus taking a chance by not having your passport with you while you are in a foreign country. |

Basically, they are getting stricter on work visas. You need to get degrees and medical cert notarised and legalised and they probably look for UK/US notaries though not absolutely sure on that. I don't think most doctors would fill out a form for a medical done in Thailand!
Rules change all the time, and at this moment the rules are strict. |

No professional medical practitioner would ever agree to this unethical scheme; it's a sure way to get his/her medical license suspended or revoked. Besides, the doc's original signature on the Saudi medical report confirming he/she performed the physical exam, medical license number and verification of current status with the medical board, submission of copies of the lab test reports, etc., are required to safeguard against these kinds of fraudulent practices. |

| Teachr has a smart idea to save a couple of bucks. If he ever gets to kSA he will doubtless be one of those who steals teabags and lightbulbs from work to minimise his esxpenses. |

For this job it would be the teaching visa. I had a backup job interview and for that it was another visa and I wouldn't have had to go home.
The salary for that job was much higher too at about 55,000 USD so I'm bummed out this week that I didn't get it. This one now pays about $3000 a month. $3000 is almost Korea salary if you find the right job there.
I might be able to get a better salary if I take more time, but I want to make a jump soon and start earning more.
I think to fly back for the job offer I did get, it would be about a $3000 investment and I'd be fronting it on credit cards, and then paying it back in the first month or two in KSA.

Scot, I interviewed for a job like that this week where I wouldn't have to go back for my visa and I got excited about it, but I didn't get that position.
It looks like it's back to the really complicated and expensive plan once more. |
