Or if you're, say, 70 years old Very Happy.

Insider told me direct hire won't even interview you if you're over 35. But if you get the interview, you get the job, unless you really mess up or lie on your application/ resume.

Aramco was easily the worst teaching job I ever had and used to dread going in to work. Absolutely appalling entitled, spoilt brats in the classroom and super-arrogant Aramcon management. The holiday allowances were awful too - 2/3 weeks here and there rather than a good solid chunk all together, so there was never really a good break. Funnily enough, fellow colleagues were some of the best I've had and we had a great laugh. Classic case of a decent salary on paper blinding applicants to the realities on the ground.

Would you mind sharing your best teaching job? Who is your favorite employer?

Maybe you should find another line of work.

They pay on time and the copy machines work. They give you an annual pay rise.

What's not to like?

Their recruiters are much, much pickier than that!

I was eliminated when one of my recruiters asked me to perform an Arabesque en l’aire.

Dummy me, I pulled an Arabesque penchee!

I have been working at Aramco for coming on five years. I have been in Saudi for sixteen years.

Please teach me about Saudi Arabia. Please explain to me about how horrid it is.

So you've found another line of work? What are you doing these days? Also, who was your favorite employer?

I'll grant you that teaching at Aramco separates the men from the boys. Those who are flexible, gifted teachers and who care about their students and can earn respect and use that to ensure discipline is not an issue will do fine here. That, as illustrated, is not everyone.

I don't think students here consider themselves more "entitled" or are more "spoiled" than I've taught elsewhere. And I know enough to realise that they are very little different from elsewhere in the country where you can do a lot worse in terms of job conditions.

Management are, contrary to what jaffa says, very supportive. There is a very good staffroom atmosphere which is the best I've encountered anywhere in over 15 years teaching.

I am very happy to have a minimum 2 week break every few months. Contrary to what jaffa says, it is quite easy to get up to a month during Ramadan/August. Sure, these regular breaks may not appeal to people who may prefer an extended break once a year, particularly those with school age children.

And the salary is very generous considering all the above, despite the administrative issues which make the job more challenging.

Think that about sums it up.

Very Happy LOL Very Happy

So you've found another line of work? What are you doing these days? Also, who was your favorite employer?

What's that got to do with my view on working for Aramco? Go back to the very first post on this thread.

What is this? The Aramco fan/bend over forwards club? Great if you're enjoying the job, but it certainly wasn't my idea of teaching.

And again, what's your idea of teaching? Has it been confirmed in reality? What has your favorite teaching job/ favorite company/school been thus far? You're not giving us a frame of reference.

"Boy, I love kittens. They are so cute."

"Pfft. Not me. Kittens suck."

"But...why? The reasons why they are lovable are numerous, such as they are soft and spastic and hyperactive and make adorable little noises. Why don't you like kittens? What do you like?"

"Kittens suck."
