Hey
I am a canadian certified teacher and want to work in HCMC in January. I thought maybe someone on here could help me figure this out.

1.Should I try to line up work before I come? If so, does anyone know any schools I can contact that might be hiring?

2. If I jut show up and pound the pavement, what are my chances of finding enough work to support myself and maybe save some money ($500USD/ month)?

3. What documents do I need to get a job here?

Any help is greatly appreciated!
Cheers[/img]

Your question has been answered many times in many threads that are remarkably similar to this one. If you add to an existing thread, it is a lot more efficient, as then readers can see the previous answers, and posters can just add details that may be unique to your question, rather than having to repeat all the generalized context that they have already written up and posted.

There are several threads currently on the first page of this site that would be good choices, such as the "pounding the pavement" one. If you go a page back, a person had an almost identical question, though he spoke of wanting to save a bit of a larger amount. The answers to his question were quite relevant to you.

Even though he spoke of wanting to save $1,000 and your amount is different, just adding to his thread will move it to the top of the list, and you can then get answers to the unique aspects of your question, and new readers can then easily find all the previously posted information on this same topic.

In addition to everything Mark just said, January/February is probably the worst time of the year to be looking for work.

+1 what Mark said. Looking before tet is a complete waste of time.

I would not come to Vietnam to look for work about 6-8 weeks before Tet and within 4-6 weeks after.
