As is every school in China, once you apply. You are not special. |

If you don't mind teaching children, you should be ok. |

Wuxi sucks. Web sucks.
Put the two together and you get your answer. |

They are desperate as the supply of teachers is quickly going down and the demand for English instruction is quickly going uo. Not necessarily a sign of quality of school.
My first job in China was with the Web in Jiangyin which is near Wuxi. Got paid on time and they treated me very well, etc. I will say that if you are a screw-up and the students don't like you, don'e expect the same from them. Owners are a bit cheap, but will pay more if they need you.
A lot of interaction between the Wuxi schools and my old one on various levels. Many of the Webs have gone downhill to agree with the poster. But that is the natural tendency with anything the Chinese get themselves involved in.
My opinion is that you are not getting into a scam. Yeah, you will deal with your daily frustrations, but hard to avoid.
Wuxi is not bad at all. Keeping in mind it is a crowded polluted hellhole like most of China. Some good bar areas, great Korean and Japanese food (I highly recommend the Japanese restaurant on the top floor of the Grand hotel), and GREAT location for sightseeing and travel. |

^ Good summation by Jimpillow.
I lived in Wuxi for 3 years. Has it's ups and downs but overcrowding and pollution often top the list. New subway MAY make life easier.
Did part time work for Web. Getting them to pay was often an issue. They would say " Work 10 classes this week" on my schedule and only pay me for 8 and pretty much make me jump though hoops for the correct pay.
But there were some long timers there - means more than 1 year.
Stay away from WORLD ENGLISH in Wuxi though. The worst. |
