Do torrent sites work in SA? I think part of what keeps me sane teaching abroad is being able to keep up with long seasons of TV shows after work and on weekends. Just curious how blocked things are.

Download "HotSpot Shield" - a software program that creates a fake IP location, so that all the "1984" big brothers in KSA can't block you from looking at websites they don't want you to go to. I've been using the software for over four years in the kingdom. It slows down your internet speed a little, but it's worth it.

You can use "The Pirate Bay" to download all the music, movies, TV shows, and most any other file you want to without having to use HotSpot Shield. I also use "Vuze" to manage all those files.

It slows down your internet A LOT! At least in my case...but it's free. A faster paid alternative might be Hide My A** (asterisks added by me Very Happy )

Some torrent sites are not blocked...torrentz.eu being one of them...

I've been using HMA Pro for years. It works great. I'm on the yearly plan and it's well worth it. Their customer service is top-notch as well.

If you know the right people, you can get a pirated set. Not quite sure how they did it, but they get old G3 (probably G4 now) set, put in a modified Sim card and you're off. I bought one, used it for a year and downloaded enough to fill a 3 gig and 2 gig external hard drives and then some. Think Batha............

I use utorrent via kick ass torrents and nothing's been blocked since I arrived in April. I also watch Sky Sports via my dad's Virgin Media subscription from the UK. That, along with BBC iPlayer and the like requires a VPN and I've found IPVanish reliable, quick and therefore good value.

What? A pirated what?

And 3 gig is less than the size of a single decent 1080 movie. Did you mean something else?
