Although your qualified without any teaching experience it will be difficult for you to find a job. Most positions I've seen ask for 2 years plus
You should have a look at the ads and also speak to recruiters to see if they can assist. I know some companies lower their requirements if they need to fill places quickly. |

I would imagine around 11,000 Saudi Riyals a month. You don't have a MA or teaching experience. |

Which demonstrates that only the worst of the contractors/recruiters will even look at your CV with no experience. I don't recommend these bottom positions for someone trying to get started in this field.

Plenty of new teachers head to Korea for their first teaching job. That would be way better than getting hired by a sketchy contracting company to teach in Saudi Arabia. |

No one cares about what class your degree was. No experience means you MIGHT get something around 9000 SR a month - if you are lucky. |

Yes. Saudi promotes a class-less approach to employment...in more way than one... |

I disagree with the others. There were definitely teachers at my school who had qualifications but no experience. I think you could get a job, but I wouldn't count on making top dollar. Give it a shot! |

I know plenty of teachers who work for either Edex, SBC, AETG, ICEAT or QEHC. While I feel quite fortunate to be direct hire at PNU, most of my colleagues who work for these contractors are fairly satisfied with their lot as well. I don't think any of them are as bad as is made out on this forum. |

Yes they are.
However, as the gentleman in the OP only has a first class degree to wave about. Those are the kind of places he should be applying to and if he has any sense, then get a 'bricks and mortar' Master's Degree in either Linguistics and TESOL - and then the money should start to flow. |

They'll start you at 4k a month (and no, scot, I'm not going to bother stating the currency).
Be sure to include an attractive photo of yourself. |

It's true you won't get top dollar, however, don't sell yourself short or believe everything people tell you here. Interview with two or three of the previously mentioned recruiters. Many folks are not unhappy working with them. I worked with one for awhile, and honestly, it wasn't so bad. And I know a few people with one of these contractors, who after a few years, are now making nearly 17,000 US riyals (including housing and transport), with very similar qualifications. You should be able to get into the market at between 11,000 and 13,000 riyals, depending on how desperate they are and how confident you are.
The market here is not nearly as advanced as many want to think it is. |
