Does anyone have info on the Zayed Uni education allowances? HCT gives up to 120,000 dhs (60,000 limit on one child) and UAEU gives 15% of salary. How about housing?
The new deal on housing at HCT is causing a lot of concern and folks are looking at the bottom line. Shifting the leases to faculty is an invitation for landlords to demand outsize rent increases (50% is not uncommon). With tight new allowances based on salary, faculty are going to have to move to cheaper accommodation in worse locations. Plus it looks like they will have to pay the agent fees and the moving costs and fork out for new utilities deposits. That's a lot of money to spend on a housing downgrade, especially on top of a pay freeze for the last 3 years and a 24 hour teaching week |

Hct has been on a declining vector for years now, and the latest assault on its employees living standards just confirms the writing that has been on the wall for so long.
Hct is now officially 'the pits' in the UAE, perhaps even in the Gulf, and those who have been there for years, decades even, need to get out now before they make an attack on your gratuity.
Rumors have been circulating recently that long-standing employees will soon only be given half the gratuity that they are contractually entitled to.

" before they make an attack on your gratuity."
Get out while you can, if you can.
Not a question of if, but when. Soon, I expect. |
