I'll be out of the country until 2/3 and RP expiration is 2/28. However, my school has renewed/gotten (whatever they do) my FEC and all I need to do is go to immigration (since I'm leaving for two weeks I obviously can't). That was a behind the scenes maneuver by the way- my FAO almost always keeps my FEC in her office.

I don't foresee any problems getting the RP renewed, but if I have any I'll definitely post.

Definitely a word to the wise Chodofu. If I have to leave in a moment's notice I can and I know where I'd go. That's life living under visas in China.
