Wait. I advised someone to take a cue from the way faculty members are dressed. Does that mean that I have to wear a hooker starter kit too? It would clash with my beard.

How progressive, a bit of positive discrimination in support of the gay community!

My last language mill told all new Chinese staff during their induction they were not allowed to get into relationships with the foreign teachers. Didn't stop me marrying one of the receptionist/TA's, but she had to quit the job when we got serious.

I taught in a language mill in the same town as Doogsville. Still in the contract that teachers and students may not have "intimate relations" for a time period of up to THREE MONTHS after students have left the school. Crazy.

...and?

You think this can be enforced in any way? It's all for show. Ignore it if you are the kind of guy to diddle your students. I am not judging. Seriously...I'm not.

I know it's frowned upon here 'cause many like to take the moral high ground but I'd be a liar if I said I never did such a thing. For those who haven't...wanting to is not much different. Be honest boys.....

It almost seems like you're complaining. Let me fix it for you:

Let me fix it for you: Over the years I have been impressed by how consistently all the Chinese teachers, especially the men, in my department dress like a certain kind of sexually active business women

Another silly thing about bobdaun's contract is it doesn't say the men can't wear mini skirts

The implication clearly being that same-sex relationships were just fine.

No and. Not judging. I simply thought it was an amusing anecdote. Life is never dull here.

Oh, and there was a dress code, too...though never enforced.
