"We want to help foreign experts here. We want them to have a better experience working and living in this country," Liu Yanguo, deputy director of the administration, said at the launch ceremony in Beijing on Sunday.
"The website will be our interactive online service platform that puts the latest news, policies and all the other information they need together," he said.
The website will also present life stories of expatriates and multimedia representations of news and other stories.

sure, but whattayado when "the source" don't know the fax?
How to extend a Z visa?
After obtaining a Z visa from a Chinese visa office, a foreign expert should pay close attention to the expiry date in China. If the person needs to extend or replace a Z visa, he or she needs to submit an application three days before the expiry date to a visa office, which can be done at any local public security bureau’s exit-entry administration.
Because no application for a visa with a later expiry date than that of the applicant’s passport can be accepted, the applicant needs to pay special attention to the passport expiry date.
In leaving China at the time the visa expires, the foreign expert does not need to cancel a single-entry visa.

is is really possible to extend/replace a z-visa in china?
i'm fairly sure they are mixing z-visa and residence permit here.
but what do i know? i'm no expert!

Okay ABoy:
You haven't dealt with the SAFEA. It is impossible to reach someone on the phone, and they don't respond to faxes. If someone answers the phone, he doesn't speak English. I have attempted several times through the years to interface with these people to no avail.
It's a very good idea for one to learn about a subject before he discusses it and makes recommendations. Your posts indicate that you are in dire need of not only education but mental help as well.

No, he doesn't work for the SAFEA. Nobody at the SAFEA speaks or writes in English. Nobody at the SAFEA works.
The SAFEA is a Potemkin Village.
If the SAFEA were really interested in helping FTs "have a better experience working and living in this country", then they'd at least answer the phone or respond to emails. The SAFEA would respond to the many complaints about the many abuses perpetrated by Chinese schools.
Anyone who would quote the China Daily as a credible "news" source is nuts, and anyone who would recommend an SAFEA website as a credible source of current information is either naive or extremely stupid.
Or perhaps being paid to recommend it. |
