Ho ho! Somebody needs a history lesson, and a better fact-checker. But as an exercise in vainglory, this is hard to top.

Pity that Smirnoff, the UK version, is practically undrinkable effluent. Except maybe as a component of those cocktails downed by those who don't know any better. Still, perfect accompaniment to the bilge spewed by the UK PM here.

As a lon -standing "tresvennik" or teetotaller I no longer use ardent spirits or any intoxicating beverage, but I do not that the product produced in Fife is horrsepiss compared to Russian vodka |

I go for the premium Chopin. The Ruskies nicked voddy from Poland, home of the tastiest potatoes. |

Oh, that old chestnut! Next we'll hear how the Irish nicked whiskey from the Scots... |

I weep when I think of my drinking days and the wonders of STOLICHNAYA. |

An ex-colleague of mine is a fan of "Stolly". I prefer a glass or three of red wine. |

He said it was the biggest-selling, not the best tasting. There's no accounting for taste amongst the masses.
Then again I tried Blavod once, but it was only the once.
Personally, a shot or two of Grey Goose or Absolut oft marks the start of an evening's shenanigans. |

Yes, while it is true that he stated it was the best-selling brand, he clearly meant this as some sort of proud assertion that Britain makes even vodka better than the Russians. Utter tosh. And quite sad that the PM of any state would have to stoop to such childish antics. He might as well have said that more English translations of Russian classics are sold globally than the original Russian language books, and then drawn a similarly mistaken conclusion that His country offers better Russian literature than even Russia.
Even a mediocre table vodka, such as the popular Stolichnaya, is miles ahead of the toxic waste the PM is withering on about. But as for the true glories of the higher end vodkas!! It just can't be understood without having been experienced. Comrades, vodka-lovers! Pop into any supermarket in Moscow and feast your eyes, and then taste buds, on liquid perfection.
Quality, David. Have you confused that with quantity? Very unBritish, tut tut... |
