|
|
Hi all
When working in Korea, I was able to download and save videos via SaveTube and transfer them to my flash drive from my hard drive.
Since coming to China, I can't get this to work. I have a very reliable VPN.
Any ideas or alternative suggestions for this problem would be much appreciated as I teach first graders and there is a wealth of material on Youtube such as Sesame Street to name one................
Thanks |

Youtube is not the be-all-end-all you know.
China blocks youtube and it is illegal to use proxy, VPN, and other methods to circumvent China's restrictions on the internet. |

Hey
Thanks for the quick reply...I have tried the first one and keep getting a message that reads as follows:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object with a BIG RED X!
I have tried all options in all drop boxes and it always comes to this |

well, try the second one.
or googlesize "1-click youtube downloader" and find one that works.
then give us the link for the one that worked for you. |

I use youku downloader[xml bar] and it seems to work great, choice of how I want it quality wise and if I want just the voice it'll strip it down for you too. |

How do you manage to maintain resolution if you use the school projector? |

Hello All
Many thanks for the suggestions. I have not yet found one that works...Has anyone here used SaveTube in the past and had trouble recently?
The internet can be slow where I am,but I have my own wi fi and I use Astrill
so going to YouTube is no problem. I am trying some torrent sites for alternatives, but coming up with "slim pickings'
When using these sites, are you using Google Chrome, Internet Explorer
or FireFox?
Thanks again |

If you're using Astrill it's easy, Astrill has a function to do that built in. I forget what it's called but I used to use it and it worked fine most of the time. It could be a problem on slow connection days as it would think the video was over while it was buffering but Astill has lots of settings, try various combinations until you get the best one for your situation. |

Thank you one and all
The ultimate resolution was downloading Mozilla Firefox and installing their add on which allows YouTube videos to be downloaded by simply clicking on the download button under the video...The drop down menu gives you a choice of formats for saving the file in.....
Much appreciation for all the feedback
Have a great weekend everybody |
