Was offered a position in Valencia at the British English House (http://british-english-house-valencia.com/). I will be working 15-18 hours a week and making 10 euros an hour. Does anyone know anything about this school or have any experience working for them? |

10 euros sounds awfully low. Is it before or after taxes?
I'm searching for work in Valencia myself and I've never come across an offer that low. |

Valencia and surrounding areas have too many native speakers for it to pay to live there and teach English.
10 Euros an hour, it would take all my strength not to laugh in their face. |

It's doable but needs contacts. 2011-2012 I'd 15 euros net/60 mins x 25 per week.
If I'd gone back for 2012-13 then the offer was 16 eur net/60 mins for 19 hours and I'd have been able to get at least another 6 hours for 15 eur net.
I paid 350 eur a month for a studio in Valencia old town near the towers and had no heating bills. Of course there's the lack of summer work (though I was offered 12 hrs per week on July intensive courses.) |
