Hey there, hope you're having grand TEFL adventures out there and learning lots.
I'm looking for a good place to connect with private students in Saudi Arabia. I'm wondering if there's a Saudi version of Craigslist--a site where most people in the country would go to look for a private English tutor? Or would they just use Craigslist for that?
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your help and time. |

Teaching privates can be perilous. I remember a slightly simple instructor in Jeddah who put a small ad in "The Saudi Gazette" (one of the two English dailies in KSA). He was invited to see the Manager of our Training Center next day and given a hard time.
Teaching privates or working for another employer is a violation of most labour contracts. |

Always an important point to make. However, the OP resides outside this region and is seeking students worldwide to tutor via the Internet. That's one issue, but the biggest will be how he/she expects to get paid. |

It is usually a problem getting paid for privates even when physically present in KSA ! |

Plenty of sites for that. KSU in Riyadh is a good place to freelance
and make contacts. As others have noted, a little discretion goes
a mile. If you connect with the ultra-elite as a few of my minions
did the pay can be stratospheric. Greed without limits is unseemly. |

Sure, but again, the OP doesn't even reside/work in Saudi Arabia and has also posted this same question on the Oman, China, France, and general Mid East forums. I can't imagine how the OP expects to get paid, but anyway, the city where he/she resides in would be the best for advertising private tutoring services. Otherwise, there are companies that hire teachers to tutor online; a list of these business exists in a related thread on the general discussion forum. |

I think the nearest thing for craigslist here would be
http://www.expatriates.com/classifieds/saudi/
It seems best for buying stuff really, they do have a services section, but again I imagine this is best if you are actually in the country. If you are outside KSA why not check out this sites (Dave's) job section, there are a few different companies offering skype classes. I don't know if these companies are any good, but there are plenty of people on this site with an opinion, I'm sure they can fill you in. |

One teacher at XXX advertised there and got some students. He also a got a cease and desist letter from the management. Don't use the same cellphone number for work and privates, LOL. |

The OP here isn't in Saudi and doesn't appear to be planning to go there.
S/he is looking to do privates over the internet from wherever...
