| Hello, I am looking to teach abroad, and I have sent in my fingerprints and payment for a background check. It sounds a bit foolish, but the day I left it on the mailbox it was a bit windy, and I am unsure that the FBI has received my request. I have been perusing their site, left a voice mail and an email, but I did not see a number specifically listed for the purpose of checking up on a background check. Has anyone or does anyone know of a number to contact the FBI about the status of your background check. I really need to know whether I need to get the prints and resend them or if they have the paperwork. Thank you. |

The FBI has numbers specifically for checking on background checks. The numbers I've used before are 304-625-5590 and 304-625-1407. I got to a real person very quickly, and they were able to tell me when my request was received, and when it was processed. |
