Can anyone give me any advice on finding a flat to rent in Ankara?

I am temporarily staying in Kecioren, and I and maybe a couple others are hoping to find a place closer to Kizilay or a place that is less conservative, family-oriented, and boring.

Also, any place where Westerners (or people who are conversational in English) are more prolific would be great as I'm a pretty social person.

Websites that I could start with or any advice on finding suitable housing would be über appreciated.

Thank you

When I lived there, I found my place in Kucuk Esat (behind the French Embassy)from a newspaper ad (Hurriyet?)
Neighbours weren't that friendly but it was at least central, relatively cosmopolitan and affordable (at the time)

You can try to check around Tunali Hilmi Cadessi, this is a quite happening place and close to many nice bars and restaurants/cafes.

A good website is sahibinden.com to look for apartments, although you might want to just go walk around the area and ask people ...hope that helps!
