Anyone know how ADA affects expats living overseas?

Anyone been able to sign up for it?

Meant to add: US citizens who reside in a foreign country are not affected by the ACA, provided that they spend at least 330 days out of 12 months out of the country. At least that was my understanding. I'll take a look for something a little more dependable than my memory. Laughing

It's my understanding that so long as we are covered in the foreign country in which we reside, there is no effect. And I'd be very surprised if the ACA covered expats - though like Xie Lin, I need to do some research to be sure.

Specifically the ACA website says:

“U.S. citizens living outside the U.S.

U.S. citizens living in a foreign country are not required to get health insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act. If you’re uninsured and living abroad, you don’t have to pay the fee that other uninsured U.S. citizens may have to pay.
