Lancy , are you a teacher in China? You do not sound like you are. ( I am not trying to be rude, I only ask)

We can not do as you say, there are still some students who want to learn. We have to teach to them.

Showing films and having them chorus is not teaching. But If you want to teach a lesson on how to say words properly, that is fine to do once.

Lots of them want to speak, but are afraid to make a mistake. We are here to teach them, not to play kindergarten.

Sure we can play games, learning games. Sure we can sing, they love to sing. A friend of mine has a guitar and the kids adore him.

We can not always take the easy way out.

It is hard to control a class where the students do not want to be there. My solution is to put them in the back and ignore them. One year (but this was in Korea) I had about 3 students who did not get a grade. I had good records.. They were absent a lot and did not pass tests. I had samples of their writing.

We were not allowed to fail them and I refused to grade them. At the end the head of the school gave them all 6o. I saved all their work. But that may not be the answer for everyone.

What that did though was teach the kids that they never had to go and they would still pass

Hate to say this, but you know the saying, " you can' t get blood out of a stone. No one can teach of some one does not want to learn.

Just put them in back of the room and ignore them. Then at the end of every class write them up, keep a copy and give the other copy to someone. The dean, or who ever. The dean will get sick of you, and things MAY change

A better question would be "Lancy, are you an English SPEAKER?". I personally have not been able to make sense of any of this individual's comments, to wit:

Okay, I get it! "Hey, you guys, let's put on a show!" Where's Busby Berkeley when you need him?
