@ LongShiKong this thread is about how to get a CRB check - by the book - from the UK if you have been out of country for the last 12 months.
I agree with your very valid point that it is all gorgeously confusing so to clarify.
National Criminal Record Check - not terminology used by the police or government but by background check companies.
Criminal Record Check - obsolete terminology - many local police forces no longer do them, you need to go to the DBS as has now been centralised and also will not provide one if you have been out of the country for more then 12 months anyway.
Criminal Background Check - obsolete terminology - is no longer used it's now the CRB.
Police Disclosure is no longer from your local police force and now comes from ACCRO however not applicable if you've been out of the country for more then 12 months.
