I agree in theory this is good advice. But in practice the problem I'm seeing is that the websites for most Chinese universities are not updated, at least for information for their FAO or Faculty recruitment offices.
I think the problem is the universities keep their Chinese-language web pages up-to-date, but the English-language versions, if they have them at all, are often times two years or more out of date, meaning the contact information contained therein is likely out of date as well.
How do you get around this problem?

look for 联系我们 to find contact emails.
whomsoever receives it (if a short, simple email) will prolly figger
out it's a job application and forward it either to the recruiting office
or the fao. |

Can somebody give me a bit of advice? I am in the same situation that I want to send emails to universities. My field of expertise is piano, so its a niche and thus not easy to get.
which effective wording could I use? (short and simple, as choudoufu stated)
I am a bit clueless what to write (my last Uni-Job I didnt apply for, but instead I was invited through an influental mentor)
And to whom should I send the mail - directly to the music department, or better first to the fao / recruiting office, or both?
I would be happy receiving a pm with one or two ideas. |

Has anyone had much luck using this method to contact middle or high schools? It seems that their websites are harder to find and navigate. |
