I have been issued a business visa, but now have decided to take another offer which will allow me to sponsor my family. What are the negative repercussions, if any, of not using it?
Will this make it more difficult for another employer to get me a work visa?
Time with family vs more money was a difficult decision and therefore made for a very late withdrawal. Now second offer is for work visa and less money, but ultimately better choice for family.
Besides not ever being able to get another offer from the first company I burned, is there any long-term damage done to be able to accept offer from other employers?
I would appreciate informed responses.

The Business Visa Center is part of the Department of State’s ongoing effort to better facilitate the issuance of visas for legitimate business travelers worldwide. The Business Visa Center is available to assist businesses and organizations in the United States and their partners, customers and colleagues around the world.

The OP's question was about a visa issued by the Saudi government for the purposes of heading to Saudi Arabia for work. It has nothing to do with the US Department of State.

If you check ZeeshanMukhtar's messaging history, you will notice that in less than 5 min, he posted numerous answers across several different threads. In all of these messages, he has nothing to say regarding the specific query of the OP. Actually, all of his messages are from Google. It's highly likely that ZeeshanMukhtar is a robot that scans the message of the OP, makes a Google search using the keywords of the message, and posts it on the forum.

This poster seems to go around the board posting completely ridiculous stuff that has nothing to do with the threads. There is another useless post on the Egypt branch. Time to do a report post to the MODs...

OK, I did some sleuthing around. I took his full post in this thread, and copy pasted it into google search with quotes around it, and lo and behold, I got the page where it came from:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_2664.html

I tried the same with his latest post, which is in the Koc University thread on the Turkey forum, and again, it gave me the official university page where his post came from. Another giveaway there is that he typed the university name correctly, as Koç. Seriously, how many non-Turks would take care to do that? [For the curious, "ç" has the "ch" sound. Similarly, "ş" is "sh".]

Anyway, back to this thread. Googling his full post I got the site I linked above. But I started thinking, if he is a bot, how did he/it get to that site after reading the OP? So I just googled "business visa" without quotes, and the second result is the site I linked! And when I googled with quotes, it is the first result on google!!! So, definitely a bot. It just takes words from the thread title, googles them, and then posts a paragraph from the first result.

Other giveaways:

- 13 of his latest posts (total 17), were posted in a 13 minute period this morning, and looking at the time stamps, basically one every minute.

- Those 13 posts are on 11 different country forums.

- His posts all make sense and give specific info about something, but they are utterly misplaced.

- And seriously, someone named Zeeshan Mukhtar does not write in perfect English; I know my people Very Happy.

Mr K posted on an Egypt thread that he(?) has been banned.

So, this is done by some program? Why? I don't understand what benefit someone gets from creating this. Is it just to see how long it takes to be caught?

I forgot to say in my previous post, I wonder the same. These kinds of things are always done for some benefit, like those spam/scam emails everybody gets. But this bot's posts were not advertising anything, so it is really weird. Maybe it was some basement-dwelling teenage hacker testing out his new program he wrote, harmless for now, but perhaps to be modified later on for nefarious purposes.

That's pretty clever. I wonder if I can contact him/her and ask them to advertise my travel website?

The MODs shut that troll-bot down. Hopefully, attention will now turn back to the OP's question... Wink

BajaLaJaula:

I suspect there won't be any negative repercussions. There are teachers on biz visit visas who depart the Kingdom before completing their one-year commitment, yet end up working back in the Kingdom on a proper employment visa under another sponsor.

You're still in your home country---that is, you're not in Saudi Arabia to physically sign any type of work agreement indicating your actual start date. Moreover, be aware that being on any type of visit visa doesn't grant you the right to work or reside in KSA. Therefore, that first company isn't legally your employer and frankly, any employment contract you sign with them wouldn't hold up in Saudi court. Anyway, given the recent crackdown on illegal and improper visas, heading to the Kingdom on an employment visa is a better plan. Just make sure you research the employer thoroughly before accepting their offer.

You might check out "washing a passport" (http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic.php?t=83261)---there's some relevance to your situation.

does washing a passport work now that they scan retinas and do fingerprinting when you come in?
