Interesting article. You and another poster have an 'unusual' tendancy to dump things on the forum with little or no introduction and/or opinion.

Still, this is an interesting issue, and not just for education, but for the concept of defining 'reading'. I still don't own an ebook reader nor a tablet, and don't have any plans to buy one soon. I do read articles online, but it is true, this tends to be more skimming and scanning than full scale reading.

I gave my opinion in the opening post. And it is not 'dumping', it is sharing. An unusual tendancy? I also help little old ladies across the street. Shocking!

And teacheratlarge has a "tendancy" to misspell "tendency"!

Re the original post, I'm a paper man. Pixels are rather unco-operative in the event of a power failure.

Saying something is interesting without saying why is not very illuminating.

As to spelling, I gather since you, the other poster knew what I meant, you should stick with paper. I think Sasha doesn't have a choice..or at least that is the impression I've gotten.

Check about the taxi situation outside your living room yet? Just google ' pirate taxis' in Moscow and you'll have plenty to read.

Later,

Taking the time to read the linked article may be more illuminating than making snide and personal comments. Give it a go. It promises to be much more interesting than this bizarre taxi obsession of yours.

In the Workers' Paradise we have a great many bookshops. Not a bad range of English language titles either, though more limited than in an anglophone country, naturally. But then again, how many bookshops at home stock Russian or Japanese books? Precious few, I'd say.

Also, in the Workers' Paradise very little heed is paid to bourgeois notions of copyright. So, plenty of free e-books to be had from Russian sites.

More reading choice here than most cities. Pixel or paper - it doesn't matter.

This has no apparent link to technology or anything else related to EFL. Nor does it relate to any other poster. So, what's the point?

No point at all, insofar as one can see. Perhaps just envy? The sheer range of literature available in paper and electronic form in the Workers' Paradise provokes quite a lot of covetousness. Not to mention the ease of getting a taxi - even to the airport : )

Speaking of points, though, this little gadget manages to squeeze quite a few DPI on its screen. A true technological marvel:
