Why on Earth do I need to send these out? WOuldn't anyone with 2 brain cells realize if I graduated from an American University, and have an American passport and have a Western sounding name, that maybe just maybe, I took High School English?

I'm so nervous I won't be able to send these in on time and I will lose an opportunity for a job. Has anyone ever been granted a visa WITHOUT the friggin transcripts?

Sad

As a taxpayer and long term resident in HK , I am very greatful that the EMB takes a tough stance on who it employs and what experience they have.

On the other hand, I can sympahise with you on this. In HK, if people break the rules they must justify why they did that...as you are probably just a number to them, they are not going to risk their own careers if they make a mistake on your application.

Interestingly, I just came back from a consultancy meeting at an HK University, and it was stated that the Uni could do little about people turning up late as if the management of a school called them to a meeting then the teacher would have to go. It was commented by the program co-ordinator, that in the UK the teacher would just tell the principal to go and .....####..but not in HK.

I can understand that they want quality teachers working in their schools, maybe those who didn;t just get an A in shop...having a Breakfast Club flashback here. Smile

Is it because there once was a rash of fake uni diplomas being used to work there?

In any case everything I have now has been sent out and have to wait for the transcripts later.

Thanks for the support. Smile

Paperwork is through the roof now.....ridiculous really. I remember when all you needed to apply for a job was a CV and maybe a covering letter.

I blame the Americans....
