| Does anyone here live in the Chiba area? If so, are there any good gyms with free weights? I am not interested in classes, just want to lift. Thanks. |

| There is a Gold's Gym in Makuhari, Chiba City. When you say Chiba, you mean the city, or the prefecture? |

Chiba city. Near Narita Airport. |

Do you call a 1 hour train journey "near"?
If you do, there's a Gold's Gym near you in Narita New Town. |

Chiba city and Narita incredibly far away, and the train is at best 3 times an hour. I think you need to be more specific. |

Makuhari is in Chiba City. It's a nice area, too, to hang out on a Sunday. I used to live 10 minutes by bicycle from the convention center and shopping mall there.
There is also a nice civic gym in Chiba City, near the port. |
