I looked at the Linked In website and Savannah College of Art & Design is looking 4 more ESL teachers.
This begs the question: what was wrong with the last group of teachers they hired?
It seems every time I turn my back, SCAD is hiring ESL teachers (for a 1 year assignment). This time, they're only hiring part-timers...keep in mind that this is not a public CC. It's a private school that gets foreign students to pay big $$ so they can learn art and join unemployed artists back in their home countries OR they can apply for citizenship and join unemployed artists in the U.S. Could it be that they have learned the trick of hiring part-time teachers in order not to pay for medical/dental costs?
MOD EDIT

My understanding is that SCAD hires most of its faculty on short term contracts, in all departments.

So this means you can do a crappy job of teaching, collect a paycheck and move on to the next school... Wink

I noticed the same theme, they are constantly hiring.

I'm a bit curious the reality though. Particularly contracts, etc.

If anyone has worked there, could you send a PM my way?

Their emphasis is obviously not on retention. So it might work if you just need something to hold you over.

I noticed this too.

As well as Interlink in Greensboro, N.C. always seems to have an opening. Other ESL teachers have discussed this, why is there always an opening?

I applied to the HK one.

Very low pay, high teaching hours, very strict standardized curriculum, very basic low-level mind-numbingly boring types of courses offered.

Prior to the interview, I guess I was hoping it would be like ESP - English with a Specific Purpose, with art and design-related themes. Nope. Not even that.
