When is the best time of year to find a job in Latin America, for teaching adults? If it varies from country to country, the main countries I'm looking at are Peru, Colombia, maybe Ecuador, Chile or Panama. I'm pretty open, really.
Also, if it matters, I have a BA, 3 years of experience teaching in Korea and Myanmar (to kids).
I'd like to know so that I don't start looking for jobs in May, if everyone hires in July and January, for example. Also, I might want to get a CELTA beforehand, which means I need to plan further in advance when to buy that plane ticket and just 'show up', as seems to be recommended. Thanks |

In general if you are looking at language schools there isn't really a hiring season as such, it's just as and when they need teachers. The rest is common sense, avoid arriving just before a major holiday (Christmas, Easter, summer, etc), everything slows down then. Although if a school has a summer program they might take on extra staff, but otherwise a lot of students take vacations in the summer so there are less new hires. |

Echo the above...
Bear in mind as well that summer south of the equator is right now...
Central America and Mexico are on a northern hemisphere schedule. |
