I'm looking for an official website that lists visa fees for American passport holders at the Wan Chai office in Hong Kong. I know what the fees are, but my FAO won't reimburse me for the full fee because she insists the fee is lower than what I'm telling her. I need proof from a government website.

Next day processing - 1800 HK dollars
3 day processing - 1500
5 day processing - 1200

Sorry, I don't know the official website, but just curious, what does she say they are?

What kind of visa are you applying for? And where did you get those prices?

But they should give you an official stamped receipt when you pay. Won't that be good enough for your FAO?

Actually, now that I think about it, it is 1100HKD regular, plus 300HKD for next day, for a total of 1400HKD. At least it was last month when I got mine.

I should add, that is for U.S. - not sure if that makes a difference.

Americans generally pay 3 times the price of the rest of us. Example...For US citizens in Hong Kong it's 1,100HKD, for Brits and Australians it's 360.

Here's a supposedly official price list.

They're probably still ballpark figures, though.

Wow, that's a big difference. Still, it's what I payed last month, plus the next day processing fee, so still cheaper than the OP quoted.

Anyway, as Mr. Leafy pointed out, he or she will have a receipt to show the FAO, regardless of the cost.

Why is the price of visa 3 times as much compared to other countries? I've seen it when I got my visa few years ago, but never bothered asking until I read this blog.

Cheers,
Aaron
