I am looking to come to Thailand and not so interested in teaching. I'd like to find an apartment with all of the modern amenities(air conditioner, washing machine, high speed internet, gym), close to transportation and nature.
i don't need to be in downtown Bangkok, actually I prefer not to be downtown, but I need good transportation routes, and away from political flare ups if at all possible.
I will only stay two or three months and can pay up front.
How much would I need to pay in anyone's estimation. If you have any leads, please feel free to put links on the response or pm me. |

It would be best to look for a serviced apartment. Most landlords in BKK seem to want tenants to sign a 12 month contract or at least 6 months. Serviced apartments are pretty easy to find online, whereas apartment hunting in BKK can be a soul draining experience. Just my 2 cents. Good luck. |

My experience with Thailand is aircon is never really that much of a problem with apartments. Finding one with washing machines might not be easy unless its higher end. People in Thailand usually deliver their clothes to the washing service that the apartment uses. Usually that service is very cheap and not too bad. Every apartment I have ever been in has had high speed internet that is included in the rent. As far as nature is concerned Bangkok has some large parks, you can find them here at the website below. Some of them are right off of the MRT or the Skytrain. Also Chattachuk park is conveniently located next to the MRT and reasonably close to the Northern Bus Terminal, the main BKK government bus terminal. Mark my words you want to take government buses if you take buses in Thailand. http://thailandforvisitors.com/central/bangkok/bkk-parks.html
Also Bangkok has a reasonable zoo that is free to enter and large enough to walk around. Its called Dusit Zoo and is located close to the center of BKK, it's within a mile of the Skytrain. |
