Was wondering if we could get a comprehensive list of job resources going. I might be job hunting soon for Asia and China is on my radar. Specifically Shanghai and Shenzhen.

Any others?

There are no shortage of job for ESL/TEFL teachers in China and you do not even need a TEFL certificate.

If you are willing to use an agent and take a discount on your salary, you can find about 50 of the most common agents or forum sites who offer placement services just like eslcafe here:

If you do not want to use an agent and are already in China, go visit the international offices of the Universities with you resume and look professional. If you are applying from outside of China you could look up the schools in the region where want to teach and use Google translator to send them and email in Chinese and English with your resume and photo attached. For some reason they care what you look like in China and always demand photos - so send your best one. This link might also help you as well. http://www.chinaforeignteachersunion.com/2014/01/list-of-direct-employers-for-china.html

You can also ask some of the veterans on this ESLCafe site if they have recommendations because most of them have been in China a few years and may have some personal experiences to share. China is a mixed bag. Good luck to you and Happy Chinese New Year!

Here's my recommendation. Ignore anything related to the CFTU.

There have been a few recent threads about where to find jobs....look for them.

Due to computer error, the following misinformation appeared on the forum:

Medellin is the the capital of Colombia.

It should have read

What is a Medellin?

We regret this error.
