I've been using the search function but couldn't find an answer.

I'm looking for a company that will carry out a UK CRB check (now DBS!) and get my certificates apostilled from abroad. So I'm good to go for most countries.

Can anyone recommend a one stop shop kind of company that carries out these services. I don't mind paying a bit extra for this so long as I can avoid going back to the rainy UK.

Not sure whether this helps , but my understanding was that in the UK individuals (and their agents ) cannot do their own DBS/CRB, it has to be an employer or organisation (sports club etc) which is checking on you for its purposes.
I have seen, on the china forum, discussion about getting the criminal record check/certificate in the States, but nothing about how to get one done in the UK.
Bear in mind , these checks /certs go out of date - so I would not spend time and money now if you are in the early stages of a job hunt. I don't know about the situation elsewhere, but most of China, at least for now , still does not require one.

Is there a list of countries which do require it ?

You've probably read this, but in case you haven't:

You can’t do a criminal records check on yourself.

If you need to run a check on yourself, you can get a ‘basic disclosure’ with details of any unspent convictions from Disclosure Scotland (anywhere in the UK).

The Disclosure Scotland online version is only for those who've been living in the U.K. for the past 12 months. For a person such as yourself (living abroad) you have to fill in a paper form.

For the CRB check, it seems your employer has to do one. They will most likely have to use an 'umbrella' organisation. There's a list on the website I linked below. However, I'm not sure that they will carryout such a check for an overseas person.

My plans have changed for now, but I'll keep the links in mind for the future.
