I'm looking for a furnished apartment in Hufouf for 4000 SR per month...I lived in Riyadh and Dammam and I'm looking for a furnished apartment in a neighborhood that is quiet, clean and modern not rural...
I'd be thankful if you advise me on decent neighborhoods you live/d in there and enjoyed it...

Have you asked your cowokers for suggestions on flats? Otherwise, you might also try expatriates.com for available housing. |

My few coworkers prefer to rent an apartment and furnish it themselves. My situation is different and the search they are carrying out is irrelevant to my need. |

Local info is what you need. I do not think there are many posters here with a knowledge of Hofuf. |

I went to Hufouf today. The "city" is kind of a "big village". It's a "city" but you feel it's not as urban as other cities in the Eastern Region. I spotted some furnished apartments in Mahasen which are decent in terms of Hasa.
Living near the sea in Saudi Arabia - a desert - is a BLESS which is something Al-Hasa can't provide!
I noticed that taxis are very few. If you don't have a car, you will be stranded for hours waiting for the mercy of a taxi driver and you might end taking a pickup truck instead of the taxi.
If you don't have your family with you or don't have friends, staying at home will be kind of "house arrest".
My impression is very negative about it compared to other neighboring cities like Dammam, Khobar or Jubail. |

Most teachers stay in Hotel-Apartments. I don't know if you would be interested in looking at something like that? |

No problem...I can offer 4000 SR per month so I need something within that range.
If you know any, I'll be glad to know what and where.
Thanks |

I do. A lot of serious contacts there and explicit current area knowledge. But I'm not in a mood to help anyone not in my circles after being abused on here earlier. Op'll have to ask them to help instead. |

Dear Beaker,
Kind of you, though, to post that you won't help the OP because of "being abused on here earlier," especially since the OP presumably had no part in that alleged abuse.
Thanks for sharing.

Frankly, my employer offered to send a Saudi agent to find an accommodation for me, but I told him I prefer to search and choose my accommodation myself. The Saudi agent's taste may not be acceptable to me. Accommodation is a personal issue for me. I like to deal with personal issues myself.
Anyways, I found a suitable furnished apartment and I already moved.
Thanks for those who tried to help |

Good for you in finding a place. Personally I'd say Hofuf was the best place I've lived in KSA. It's green and leafy instead of the standard grey/brown desertscape and not too bad traffic-wise, compared to the hellholes of Dammam, Riyadh, Jeddah. I used to really enjoy exploring in my car and the villages around Jebel Gaarh are interesting. It's one of the biggest oasis (es?) in the world and therefore, unlike the rest of the country, the locals have a genuine respect for nature. Also, the sea isn't far away and the beaches are empty. There is a massive camel and sheep market every weekend that makes for a unique experience and the Empty Quarter pretty much starts there, which is also an unusual anomaly that not many people get to see.
Have fun! |

4000 SAR a month. Why not stay at a hotel? Or keep looking.

I need a two-bedroom apartment as a have a small family. If you know a hotel whose rent is within that range, I'd be grateful if you pm me. Meanwhile, I have to stay in Hasa and can keep looking like you said.
A two-bedroom apartment similar to the one I was renting in Dammam is for 6000 or 7000 SR a month in Hasa. If I pay the first-class furnished apartments administration 6 months in advance, the rent will be 5000 SR a month which is still beyond my limit.
By the way most of the furnished apartments in Hasa are on busy streets or in crowded areas which makes you unable to hear yourself think.

interesting to hear that accommodation is more expensive there than in Khobar. I guess there's less of it to go around and this therefore drives prices up. Right? |
