At what point can you call a MA program "online"?

The reason I'm asking is because I've been looking at different masters programs and one in particular is a hybrid of classroom courses and online courses. It's not calling itself an online program but I'm not sure and I don't want whatever program I choose to be worthless if I try to get a job in the ME later in the future, since they don't recognize online degrees.

Frankly, it's an online program if a prospective employer (and not the university) perceives it as such. If you're looking at Saudi Arabia for future employment, it's best to go with an on campus degree program.

Hybrid programs at a bricks and mortar institution have a much higher chance of being regarded as acceptable than do programs through a school that has only an on-line presence. (That's an over-generalization, of course, but true more often than not.) The balance of classroom/on-line courses can also make a difference. And ditto NS's above comment.

Thanks for both your replies. The school is brick and mortar and the majority of courses are in the classroom and it includes a TESOL cert course (classroom) and two other practicum courses. Would it be acceptable if I started a new thread and posted a link to the program asking for opinions if it looks good or not?

You can post it as you like. However, opinions about a specific degree program tend to be general assumptions unless you get lucky and your thread catches the eye of some Cafe poster out of the thousands who can personally attest to the program.

I suggest you take a look at "What do you look for in a BA or MA degree program?" (http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic.php?t=95138) first.

I have read through all that and a few other threads similar to it and it was helpful.
