I'm in the process of modifying some of my most basic information on my passport, and I've been issued a new passport with some of this changed information but not all of it. The rest must be done in my country of origin. I'll be doing that on a trip I'm leaving for in a week. Can I wait to inform Immigration until ALL changes are complete (maybe three weeks time) and still travel in and out of Japan on my new passport, or must I inform Immigration immediately (like my next day off, Monday) that my information has changed and I need a new zairyuu card--only to do it again in three weeks?
