Right after Nieto's meeting with Obama and Harper, El Chapo is caught. Couldn't Mexicans have taken the man without the outside interference/collaboration?

Even though El Chapo wasn't a politician, he reminded me of the former Panaman kingpin who led his nation and who flourished in the light of American corruption. Would Panamans or Mexicans have had such men without the corrupt outside world, American in particular?

In one way or another, a post is to be filled in and further (more peaceful and prosperous) cooperation is to be had.

The last name of Mexico's president isn't Nieto, it is Pena. Mexicans use both the paternal last name, and the materal one, with the FIRST one being the paternal, and the one used to refer to a person if only the one is used.

Seeing how he already escaped once while in custody in Mexico, I am not sure it wasn't a good idea. As well, I think extraditing him to the US would be a good plan, as well as letting him serve whatever sentences he might get in a good ol' Texas prison. Won't be any escaping there.

The US authorities routinely overreach their boundary which is creating some dangerous grounds for varieties of international groups and political administrators around the world. However international people break laws that affect Americans, under the circumstances, they ought not to be brought to the US. Would we like to see our own taken from our homes to trials in other nations? Hard to image any current Chicago gangster/authorities taken from their warm beds and flown to Mexico City for justice.

Although bringing the American laws to foreign powers is precarious and perhaps counterproductive, it reinforces commerce. I don’t doubt that Mexico and states north of its borders will increase trade, illegal drugs inclusive. It has happened before, and it’ll happen again.

Having said that, we should remember that powers in the US have given lives to politicians and mobsters in many places on Earth; Panaman Noriega or Mexican Guzman are only a fraction of all the dirt which costs American tax payers so much. The promises of our investments and efforts returning in varieties of forms to our homes often result in harm rather than good; we’ve got more drug dealers, terrorists and people around the world that hates us.

All in all, the United States of America is so corrupt that anyone in the world can take advantage of. The justice we impose on others is many, if not most, times for the reason that we live in a perverted society which created the problems in the first place. To eradicate much of the evil around the world, we’ll have to look at ourselves firstly; to stop terrorist groups, we’ll have to learn how not to support them, to stop drug cartels, we’ll have to learn how to live without their products.

Unfortunately, until drugs are controlled in some other way, maybe legalisation, the traffic out of logistically important Mexico won't stop.

C.G. was caught, who's the next in line for the cartel's throne?

Governments should do more a grass root level (no pun intended) to stop drug use. Catching the C.E.O of one Cartel won't stop anything.

Why are Governments so blind to this? Why is nothing done? That is what I don't understand...

Well, Oliver North used it to fund the Contras in Nicaragua, and got away with a slap on the hand from various presidents, who just looked the other way, for starters. I think the real truth has less to do with drugs and more about people being drunk with power and lust for money. They have theirs so who cares about the "little people". And I include both the governments of the US and Mexico in that statement.

There's a huge market for drugs in the US; people with or without money seek varieties of substances for varieties of reasons. Mexican cartels supply for the American demand as much as American weapons manufacturers equip all kinds of thugs around the world. Extraditing international offenders to the US makes as much sense as bringing American arm dealers to justice in other countries where people are affected by violence.

Perhaps someone who's more convenient to both governments.
