This young woman has found the secret to learning languages. Just talk gibberish and sound like you know what you're talking about.

The comments are hilarious, seeming to miss the point that she is imitating the SOUND of a language, not actually trying to speak it. Many complain that they can't understand her: "Her accent is terrible. I couldn't understand most of what she was saying!"

But there are so many who do that with their own native tongues. Such people are usually called politicians. Very Happy

John

Just like the old joke:

How can you tell when a politician is lying?
His lips are moving.

Ha! You guys! Clearly you have not been imbibing enough of the magic elixir of translation. Just take about 500 grammes of vodka, and you can hear clearly that she is expounding on the philosophy of Herzen!

All part of our plot to take over the world: secret messages on mainstream and social media, mu ha ha ha haw!

Dear grahamb,

And this, I'm sure:

Aren't we all - well, all of us ESL/EFL peons, anyway?

Regards,
John

John, I doubt if the average EFL pawn could take out a horse with a single punch. Smile

There's another quote that reflects the plight of English teachers. It's right at the start of the film when one of the Chinese railroad workers collapses with exhaustion. The overseer (Lyle) says "Dock that Ch*nk a day's pay for nappin' on the job." Priceless.
