|
|
Well......lovely day, went to the library here in wonderful Vancouver....went on the internet...fergot my bag was still on floor where i had been reading....
Remembered when i saw the contents of it (minus my digital camera) all around.
Dammit.
lol.....my own fault (hazards of being a dreamer) I just plain wasn't watching it....
still.....
Dammit.
Anyways, I am now hoping I can hear about how it will cost me just peanuts to replace it in China, or perhaps I am dreaming again ...
sigh

I met a TEFLer in Cambodia in 98--she had come from Egypt on holiday, and had bought a camera in Vietnam for a very good price. I'm afraid i had not heard of digital cameras at that time, so Im not sure if it was digital or the old type. but she said it was CHEAP and GOOD--ie the latest model, so maybe it wasdigital.
hey you china hands--help her out!! Whats wrong with you schleppers? |

They are about the same or a bit less than cameras in other countries. If you go to a computer market though,(the same places that have pirated DVDs on the top floor) you can get it cheaper. I bought a Canon IXUS 430 for just over 3000 yuan in the computer market but in the department stores here it's around 4200 - 4400 yuan. |

I'm no expert, but I know that someone here has a digital camera identical to mine, but bought in China, that cost roughly the same thing. |

I just picked up a very nice cell phone (made by Sharp) with a built-in 2 Megapixel digi-cam which can be connected to a PC.
Yea baby!

Premier brand, made in Taiwan, and rebadged as [I think] Vivitar in the West, has some nice units. One 2MP model was around the 1000 rmb mark. There are some very cheap, strange looking mainland jobs around. |

Any good cam will cost more than 1500rmb. In Hongkong you can find deals but i would say don't buy less than 4 mega pixels and that will cost about 2200. I just bought a 5 mega pixel, with the 100 times zoom, 60 sec movie cam extra large lcd screen apparently pretty good for 2900.

What do you think of the AIPTEK brand that's being advetised in chinese TV channels... Model : Pocket DV 6000, you can choose to use 4, 3, and 2 Mega pixels (higher pixel quality means lesser shots, multifunctional (Stills, video, mp3, recorder, webcam, flash drive, expandable memory) its a regular electronic eye candy for 1980 RMB... have u tried it? any feedback... i've seen it in my city and may pick one up as soon as i get feedback from u guys n gals |
