Hello all

Anyone heard of this lot? Had a look at their web site and Hire Pro LLC seems to have some connection with Lebanon (though they say they are US based)

They are advertising for teachers to arrive in KSA in April 2014.

They're very likely a recruiting agency handling the hiring for a university or one of the numerous dodgy contracting companies. If you still expect to apply and you get an interview, ask them who the actual employer is.

By the way, I found the following benefit on their job ad rather odd: "Subsidized educational development opportunities within the Universities network towards a part-time Master's or Ph.D. Degree on selected on-line degree programs."

I asked them about this, and the contradiction of the KSA not recognizing on-line degree's, and I was told by the recruiter that it was something! As in, something is better than nothing.

Yet, this doesn't make sense to me. Why offer a degree you don't recognize. Sounds like fluff. Also, if you're serious about teacher development, why not offer something along the lines of night classes/ weekend classes? Is it because they'd have to pay a professor to be there to teach you?

Also, I asked for the name of the school they were submitting my application to, and I got a very curt reply saying they wouldn't divulge that information. I quickly replied with a formal withdrawal of my application.

The next day, I received an email from a coworker of the recruiter I was dealing with, explaining that they don't release school information because people often apply twice. (??? - I must be missing something.)

The email went on with the name of the school and a complete job description. They want to know if they should continue with my application.

Since I can't find anything really negative about them, or the school they're submitting my application to, I've decided to sleep on it.

But the main point of posting here today is perplexity concerning the on-line masters. I'd like to do a masters, I recognize that other countries would probably accept it, but it's just strange that they offer something they themselves don't recognize.

Did you continue with the application or withdraw it?

I'm wondering myself because I have also applied through the same recruitment company. I just wanted to know if you moved forward in the application process.

The online thing seemed weird to me too, but it's not like it's required (I hope).

I believe the reason recruiters won't give the name of the school is because people would apply directly to the school, cutting out the middle man (recruiter). It's looking more and more like employers in many countries are only hiring through recruiters these days.
