| Last summer I assigned a video about drug users and dealers in the UK and US as part of an assessment. No one said a thing. They are adults. Obviously nudity in a film could be construed as pornography and get you in trouble. |

That's what wasn't obvious to me. There may be one or two seconds of nudity in the background of one scene. That would be bad? |

I don't know your students, so couldn't say. I would just leave it alone.
If you are really paranoid, just use video overlay and make the screen black for that 1-2 seconds. |

I asked another teacher and he concurred with you. I actually decided to show a different movie to that class anyway. But I may still show Wall Street to a different class. Could you please give me a brief explanation of how to use video overlay? |

You need video editing software, I use AVS video editor, but there are many free ones out there. Pretty much you put in the media you want to overlay (like a black screen picture or just a part to cover the nudity) then tell it what time and position to go over the original video.
I only mentioned this as a solution, because if you cut the scene out the subtitles will get all out of wack.
Another more primitive approach would be to use the mouse and skip over the scene |

I once had a substitute history teacher who would hold up a piece of cardboard to cover the TV screen when anything too 'questionable' would appear. By questionable I mean things such as people in underwear, or anything that could be considered remotely violent. For those interested the video was about native Americans and settlers. We didn't see anybody get hit with an arrow... |
