I eat organic food and prefer vegan or vegetarian. In Riyadh, Tamimi Supermarkets carry Amy's Kitchen organic frozen meals from California, Bolthouse Farms juice, etc. Basically I'd come out with a shopping bag whose contents looked very much like one from Whole Foods. Please help if you know anything similar in this area. Also into natural cleaning products (sprays, detergent, soap, etc).

Organic fruit and veggies can be found in Jeddah's larger, better markets. I also recall seeing some organic household products at Danube, if you're not able to make your own. Don't think I've ever seen Amy's frozen meals in any of the stores I'd visited in Jeddah.

The other day in Lulu (Khobar) I spotted Ecover washing up liquid (dish soap) which is a natural product. Lulus in Jeddah/Mecca might also stock this. It was imported from the UK and not too badly priced either.

Thanks. Seems promising at least. I'd like to make my own, but I'm a bit lazy with these kinds of things so it will be nice if I can find that stuff.

Tamimi has a large organic section along with large prices, eg SR35 for a cucumber imported from Holland. Non-organic, about SR5 a kilo.

The Tamimi I go to in Riyadh has local organically grown cucumbers and carrots at very reasonable prices.

Check out the vegetable market - as many locals do ("Souk Al Khodari" if my rusty Jeddawi is stil;l functionibg). People show up there by car or in a taxi and buy whole boxes of fruit and veg at wholesale prices. Of course you won't get the uniform size, individually wrapped items that have become the norm in the decadent West !

Gorkomi... it means that John Kalani wrote something that the forum moderator/s decided should not have been written. Wink

Actually I saw what he wrote...

"WHAT" was the proper response, and I'm not surprised that it was pulled because it seemed like rather trolling up a fight, and it was done on another thread too.

I think Mr Kalani needs a break from Saudi especially based on his description of his employer. LOL
