First year I have gone. Quite spectacular to see so many universities from all over the globe along side all the local ones...competing for Saudis attention. All under one huge roof! Anyone else stop by? Males and females all mingling together

So... this was an International "Education" Exhibit? Or was it just a part of it devoted to ed?

100% universities. It's now become an annual event. Universities from different countries attend to promote and (hopefully) recruit students. Of course the USA had the most universities attending next to KSA. However there were universities represented from all over the globe. Lots from Europe as well. There were also special lectures people could sign up to hear various universities give more in depth promos.

This has been taking place annually for years, both in Riyadh and Jeddah (or maybe they take turns). Maybe Khobar too.

It would seem to make more sense to call it "The International Education Exhibition," wouldn't it?

Yes, that's what it is called. Similarly, there is the annual

International auto show
Furniture show
Food and hotel show (just concluded in Jeddah)
and others

in Jeddah and Riyadh.

There are so many of these "international" exhibits of one thing or another around the Gulf, name specificity would seem crucial. But, one can never be sure in this part of the world.
